Orientation Course for Catering Personnel

The course prepares candidates to work efficiently in the ship’s catering department while maintaining international standards of hygiene, safety, and discipline.

During the OCCP program, candidates are trained in:

  • Food hygiene & safety standards
  • Maritime safety procedures (STCW)

Eligibility Criteria for OCCP Course

Before applying, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Passed 10th standard or above from a recognized board
    (Minimum 40% aggregate and 40% in English either in 10th or 10+2)
  • Diploma or Degree in Hotel Management from UGC or AICTE approved institute
  • Medically and physically fit
  • No colour blindness
  • Age between 18 to 28 years

Certificates Awarded

Upon successful completion of the OCCP course, candidates receive certificates approved by the Director General of Shipping, including:

  • OCCP Course Certificate
  • STCW Certificate

  • CDC (Continuous Discharge Certificate)

These documents are essential for employment onboard Merchant Navy vessels and serve as official identification for seafarers.
